About Wendy
My name is Wendy Tye, and I am a retired school teacher. I am blessed with a loving, supportive husband (Bob) and two wonderful daughters. Bob and I raised our daughters in Oshawa, Ontario. My eldest daughter (Eleni) is married to Ethan and studying at Trent University. My youngest daughter (Sabrina) is studying at Queens University.
My dream upon retirement was to move to Prince Edward Island with my husband to be closer to his family. However, God closed the doors to PEI, and the Lord led me to move to St. Thomas in July 2021. Many blessings followed after the move, and I started attending Redemption Bible Chapel St. Thomas, becoming a member in January 2024. I serve in the Kids’ Ministry and attend small groups and Bible Studies.
I was born and raised in Singapore where I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour at an early age. I was actively involved in my Singapore church. At 20, I had to make a difficult decision to either continue my studies in Singapore or pursue a degree at Western University in Canada. I asked the Lord for guidance. God gave me his answer through a lady who was in church. She said to me, “Go! God wants you to go,” and so I packed up my bags and took the plane to Canada. My life in Canada has not always been easy. I strayed from the Lord for many years, but God’s mercy and grace brought me back to him. He has remained faithful even when I was not. He has provided healing from my illness. I am so grateful to be a child of God, and I intend to serve Him all the days of my life.
My life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
