Sermon Notes – December 15
Christ Came to Give the Gift of Himself
Review – Last Week:
“Jesus was born to bear witness to the truth”
Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”
John 18:37
He came to testify to the Truth, so that He might make for Himself a people who know and believe and follow the Truth, who will then tell everyone about the Truth.
Context of John 10:10
Understanding John 10:10
So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
John 10:7-10
